Charity Fashion Show
PEOPLE in Somerset are being invited to attend a charity fashion show being hosted at Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre in Taunton this month (April).
During the event, staff from the garden centre will model clothes from clothing suppliers Tayberry, Tulcan and Mosula. Proceeds from the fashion show will go to Children’s Hospice South West.
Norma Moore, General Manager at Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre, said: “At the event, which takes place on Thursday, April 24 from 7pm, we are hoping to raise invaluable funds for the charity’s work with children living with life-threatening illnesses.”
“There will also be a raffle with prizes including a £50 voucher donated by Tayberry and clothes donated by Tulcan.”
Children’s Hospice South West opened its first hospice, Little Bridge House in Barnstaple, in 1995. The hospice offers children with a life-limiting or life-threatening conditions respite, relaxation, friendship and a sense of community. Little Bridge House immediately provided support for up to 200 families.
The demands on Children’s Hospice South West’s Little Bridge House increased to the extent that there became a vital need for a second children’s hospice and in April 2007 they opened Charlton Farm near Wraxall, Somerset.
Having another hospice has instantly doubled Children’s Hospice South West’s provision and offers more choice to families so that they can remain close to home or take a complete break away from the area they live.
Norma added: “We are looking forward to hosting the fashion show and we hope to raise a significant amount for Children’s Hospice South West.”
The fashion show takes place at Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre, which is located just off the intersection between the A38 and A361 in Monkton Heathfield, on Thursday, April 24, 2008 from 7pm.
Tickets for the show cost £2.50 per person and are available from reception at the garden centre
