Brenda wins crate-load of gardening goodies
BURNHAM-on-Sea resident Brenda Eveleigh is celebrating after winning a crate-load of garden goodies this month (April 2008) at Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre in Somerset.
Brenda was entered for the prize draw to win the products after she joined the garden club card scheme at the garden centre, which is located at Monkton Heathfield between Taunton and Bridgwater.
Brenda said: “I was very surprised and delighted to win the crate-load of gardening items. It’s unusual for me to win something.
“We won all sorts of things including compost, gravel, a mini greenhouse, plants and seeds. Both my husband Richard and I like to garden. However, since breaking my ankle my gardening has been limited to planting in pots, which I can sit in the garden and plant up while Richard attends to the rest of the garden.
“Our granddaughter Melissa even helps us in the garden. Richard and Melissa are putting in some potatoes this year and planting some seeds in the mini greenhouse.”
Brenda says she enjoys her trips to Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre and has been visiting the garden centre for several years.
The gardening club card was launched at Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre in January this year (2008). People filling in a garden club card application form before March 1, 2008 were entered into the competition to win the goodies.
The garden centre’s General Manager, Norma Moore said: “I would like to congratulate Brenda on winning the crate-load of garden goodies. I hope they help her with her gardening this year.
